Article Processing Charge (APC) Policy

Journals published under Makav Publishing, including RATS, operate in accordance with the principles of open-access publishing, ensuring that all scholarly content is freely, permanently, and universally accessible without subscription barriers.

In line with this model, an Article Processing Charge (APC) of 100 USD is applied to manuscripts that have been accepted for publication following a rigorous peer-review process. No fees are charged at the submission stage or during the peer-review process.

The APC is requested only after the manuscript has been formally accepted and does not, under any circumstances, influence editorial decisions or the outcome of the peer-review process. All editorial evaluations are conducted independently, in full compliance with international standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing, including the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

The APC contributes to covering the essential costs associated with high-quality scholarly publishing, including:

* Management of a robust and transparent editorial workflow
* Coordination of independent, double-blind peer-review processes
* Professional language editing, copyediting, and proofreading services
* Typesetting and layout formatting in compliance with international publishing standards
* Assignment of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) and metadata registration
* Online hosting, digital archiving, and long-term preservation of published content
* Integration with indexing and abstracting databases to enhance visibility and academic impact
* Continuous development and maintenance of the journal management and publishing infrastructure

As part of its commitment to ethical publishing and global knowledge dissemination, Makav Publishing ensures that all APC policies are transparent, fair, and aligned with best practices in scholarly communication.

Authors publishing in RATS benefit from a rigorous peer-review process, professional editorial services, and enhanced global accessibility of their work, contributing to wider dissemination and increased citation potential.

In specific cases, partial or full APC waivers may be granted to authors facing financial constraints, particularly those affiliated with institutions in low-income regions. Such requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and require prior approval from the editorial office.
